Brett Eldredge: CMT Instant Jam Was His Vegas 2.0

June 21, 2017 klrp1650 0

by Alison Bonaguro 2h ago Seven years ago, Brett Eldredge would never have believed where he’d be in 2017: back in Las Vegas, performing for a massive crowd as the headliner, instead of just in the background singing old cover songs in a house band. “If you told me that people would be waiting out in a line to get tickets to a show, period, that would be crazy to think about,” Eldredge said of what he would’ve thought back in 2010. Fast forward to 2017, when Eldredge was playing at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan as part of CMT’s Instant Jam concert series. Telling People magazine what the old days were like for him in Vegas, he says he was in a band with no name at the Mandalay Bay resort. And he wasn’t playing a big room or an arena. He played the lobby. “It was me and […]

by Alison Bonaguro 6/9/2017 Sometimes it’s easy to forget that Blake Shelton is a country singer. And a damn good one. This one tells the story of being reminded of a heartbreak when that one certain tune comes on. Alison Bonaguro Alison makes her living loving country music. #CMTAwards: Little Big Town

June 10, 2017 klrp1650 0

by Alison Bonaguro 24h ago When Little Big Town took the 2017 CMT Music Awards stage on Wednesday night (June 7), it was the band’s Jimi Westbrook who led the way. He kicked off the heavy heartbreak ballad by singing alone before his wife Karen Fairchild and their bandmates Kimberly Schlapman and Phillip Sweet joined in for the four-part harmony on the chorus. And by the time the song was over — with Westbrook singing alone again on the outro — it was one of the show’s highlights. Written by Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna and Chase McGill, the song appears on the band’s latest album, The Breaker. Alison Bonaguro Alison makes her living loving country music. She’s based in Chicago, but she’s always leaving her heart in Nashville.
